Ode To Heart
dead of winter • all those cold nights feeling the breeze roll in • they always say it’s darkest before the dawn, but tomorrow • it’s such a beautiful day • it’s such a beautiful day to see with my eyes open • and as the seasons change inside of me • I feel the weight lift from my shoulders • there is so much that I want to tell you • and I hope this life is long enough • after all that I have been through • I hope I’m man enough to keep you standing up for what’s right there in front of you • what’s right there in front of you • keep me in your hopes • keep me in your fears • keep me in your dreams and always hold on to these memories.

Survivors
always choose to lead • sacrifice is just a means to be free • I would give my life just so you could see that there’s more than this • so much more than they’re showing us on the TV • so don’t be afraid • don’t fear tomorrow • we’re breathing today • I want to live my life • I want to live my life without fear of this painful oppression and the failure that’s haunting me • because you can overcome • you can strive to persevere, so choose to stand for something • don’t miss your chance, be free • don’t turn your back on dreams • hold steadfast and be true • don’t turn your back on anything you do • I gave my life away • I was wasting away my days • I was afraid of me • I saw the lights flash before my eyes • it was trying to tell me something • I felt a weight creep into my life • it was trying to drag me under • it was trying to pull me down • always remember me • you will have your own life someday • and when it feels like lose-lose • well they call it,” the blues” • think about the path you choose • pessimism is your enemy, because survivors cant lose • try to catch the light flash before your eyes.

Seasons
there is a fire in the streets • will someone please put them out and if you could, too • have a sense of urgency • then maybe they could all make it out alive • I see sacrifice • please show me sacrifice • giving up all you know to give it all you got • and I can relate to a broken home • wake up every day and be grateful I’m not alone • and I hear footsteps on the pavement • there are people here, and they’re calling out your name • what will you show us? • what will you sacrifice to come back home? • and I hear footsteps on the pavement, and I see the seasons changing every day, but all I see is the rain • but with the good in us all there is a day that shines brighter for us • the skies clear up and I feel the warmth on my skin • the pain is clearing • the fear is almost gone • the fear is gone • what will you sacrifice to come back home?

Death Parade
let us take away your homes and leave you on the streets, and in return we will let you sleep • let us take the land and drain the lakes you once adored, and in return we will let you weep • I see you bite the crippled hands that built your foundations • I see the children laid to rest, and a mother in mourning • in her name we will be vindictive • in her name we will be vindicated • we’re crawling through the streets to this beautiful death parade • the world is tuning in to see this death parade • so I no longer believe in kings, and I trust no kings • you aren’t providing any shelter for me, sentenced to death, left to bleed out to sea • we built this city upon our rights and our liberties • I will not be deceived • you cannot illuminate me • and I can clearly hear the sounds of wolves feeding on the bones of the weary • I don’t trust in anyone who’s willing to sell their own for profiteering.

Walk Away
cold nights • alone in these city streets • I'd walk until my feet went numb • and my heels would crack and bleed • lay my head upon the concrete • am I far enough from home to sleep • I sit down and look up • pray for some relief • from all my pain and my suffering • for someone to come down and shine on me • shine on me • when I look back on those nights • pining for your attention • I realize I wasn't paying any attention to myself • I've had all I can take • I need a place where I can think • am I far enough from home to sleep • I just wanted to escape this • but my hell • it resides in me • I feel the bitter cold on my cheek • so many times I should've walked away • had the power to pack up all my shit and leave • I can't believe I made this image of you • in my head • and this feeling inside of me • I will have until I die • but with my hands held high • I'd give my life to believe • someone will shine on me • the seasons change in us every day • today begins with me

Disbeliever
whatever happened to humanity? • this is the trial that you set for me • is this a movement, or your attempt at destruction? • because I do this for my own • don’t ever give it up, give it up, give it away • don’t lose the things you love • let’s stand together • arm in arm we’ll make it through • I’m never giving up, I won’t turn my back • my back on you • this is the trial I’ve set for myself • I’m listening to no one • I’m only listening to me • you set this up • it’ll never go away • changed into something different • I don’t even know your face • where do you go from here? • I am a common man, view the world from my eyes if you fucking can • I am a common man, view the world through my eyes and take a stand.
